Visionary in 2012, Urge saw a particular interest in using a Jet type helmet for MTB and EMTB. Inspired by moto trial, the REALJET had then its fan base. As technologies develop, they allow for the design of lighter and more effective helmets. Welcome to the RASCAS
Naturally Shaped
Since simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, this mountain bike helmet aims to be both simple and elegant.
By playing with textures, the visor reveals the brand's logo when sunlight hits it. Discover the video
Your own style
On the nose or stored under the visor, glasses are part of our ride, so it was important to make them fit perfectly the RASCAS. While goggles are for the riders who aren’t afraid of sending it, hardcore riders or freeriders. The helmet was designed to be a perfect match with the goggles frame. The flat design on the upper part of the temples allow for the goggles strap to sit in place like on a full-face helmet.
POP-OFF system
More than a simple visor with 2 positions, the POP-OFF visor system developed by Urge has a third virtual position which is a detachment position. Hard to reach to avoid wrong handling, it works under heavier forces.
The goal is to reduce the risk of injuries and to keep the visor intact in case of a crash.
SOFTER IS SMARTER
Our most advanced mountain bike helmet couldn’t go without the best protection, which is why it naturally incorporates ERT technology. Know more about ERT
Your every day Lid
Because we wanted this helmet to check all the right boxes, we equipped the Rascas with the innovative Fidlock magnetic buckle for a more enjoyable, practical, and secure experience.
Additionally, for a perfect fit, the helmet features a discreet and precise occipital adjustment system.
Explore
Unlike our first model in glass fiber, the RASCAS is an IN-MOLD construction, allowing for more freedom in the design. It’s also the perfect occasion for the new design team to reaffirm the brand’s heritage whilst creating a new dynamic. The technical requirements such as the air flow, an innovative visor system, the safety and comfort were in the centre of the development and the aesthetics of the helmet answer these requests.
Well-balanced between softness and aggressiveness, this helmet matches the rider flow as he rides with smoothness gnarly trails. Just like the RASCAS trail above the village of Grimaud from which the helmet takes its name from. Video
Why use synthetic fibers when mother nature already does such a good job?
Unlike traditional material, our bamboo fiber offers a unique combination of resistance, flexibility and comfort. Plus, its moisture wicking properties help to regulate the temperature and maintain the rider dry on long rides.
Bamboo is a durable, quickly renewable and eco-friendly material, making it a perfect choice for the eco-conscious riders
After several years of in-depth testing, we are finally able in 2024 to equip one of our helmets with a recycled polycarbonate shell. We’re now capable of producing a helmet 100% made out of recycled material! The use of this recycled «plastic” brings limitations to the colour choice, that’s why it’s only use on the RASCAS called DARK MOON for now. This name comes from the dark blue reflects under the sun light. The blue colour comes from the colour of the recycled plastic bottles. Helmets made of recycled PC obviously have the same level of durability, shock resistance and performance than these out of new material. Check out our page on eco-conception
Air-Flow
Some unscrupulous journalists use the number of ventilation holes in helmets as a marker of breathability. However, good helmet ventilation is defined by its ability to dissipate heat both actively and passively. To achieve this, the RASCAS is equipped with large vents at the front and rear for passive airflow. More importantly, for active ventilation, internal airflow channels guide the air, helping keep your head cool and your thoughts clear.
